Terms and Conditions of Sale

Unless otherwise agreed all sales made by South Durham Refrigeration are made on these conditions of sale. No variation of these conditions of sale or any terms supplied with any order form or other document provided by you will be binding on South Durham Refrigeration unless confirmed in writing by a Director of South Durham Refrigeration. All goods are subject to availability. You are responsible for deciding on the suitability of goods offered for any particular purpose and for the consequences arising for any work we undertake on the goods at your request.

Descriptions and Images

Full descriptions of all appliances and images, if available, are included on our website. It is recommended that you print out a copy of the description for your records. Naturally, whilst we try to ensure that all descriptions and photographs are correct, errors do sometimes occur and manufacturers are constantly changing technical specifications. If any feature listed in the description is important to you, please ask us to check with the manufacturer that the feature applies to that particular appliance before you confirm your purchase.


All prices on our website are in pounds sterling and were correct when published and given in good faith and are subject to VAT at the current rate. South Durham Refrigeration reserves the right to change the advertised price before you place an order. Unless otherwise agreed payment is required prior to delivery of the goods. Where South Durham Refrigeration agrees to issue an invoice you must pay the invoice within 30 days of the invoice date. For so long as any amount to be paid for goods remains owing to South Durham Refrigeration, title of goods will remain with South Durham Refrigeration and will not pass to you until South Durham Refrigeration has received full payment including any interest due. South Durham Refrigeration may charge interest at 4% above the base rate of the Bank of England on any amount not received by the due date until such amount is received, both before and after judgement.


Goods held in our warehouse are usually delivered the next working day on the UK mainland, although bulky or fragile items may take longer. Certain items may have a 2-5 days delivery period as stated on the website and which you will be informed of on the confimation email. The Risk of loss or damage to goods shall pass to you upon delivery; all goods must be unpacked and inspected for damage on delivery. Claims for damage to goods must be noted on the delivery invoice at the time of delivery and notified to South Durham Refrigeration in writing within 3 days of delivery to you. Claims for non-delivery of goods must be notified to South Durham Refrigeration in writing within 7 days of the invoice date. Goods returned will be accepted entirely at South Durham Refrigeration's discretion, within 30 days of delivery to you providing that they are unused, in perfect condition and in their original packing. You must contact us to obtain authorisation to return goods on our Customer Services line on 01429 880544. Any goods returned to South Durham Refrigeration without authorisation or not in the condition set out above will be rejected and returned to you at your cost. South Durham Refrigeration reserves the right to charge an administration charge on all returns. Where goods do not appear in a South Durham Refrigeration publication (including but not limited to our catalogue, or a leaflet, or our website) and are specially ordered for you, South Durham Refrigeration will only accept return of the goods if they are defective and returned within 30 days of delivery by you.

Delivery Days and Times

At present, delivery can only be made Mondays to Fridays, between 8am and 6pm. It is not possible for us to specify a time for most deliveries.

Guarantee & Liability

Goods supplied by South Durham Refrigeration are guaranteed in accordance with the terms of the manufacturer's warranty provided with the goods or for 1 year if not stated with the goods. The warranty applies to UK mainland only. If any South Durham Refrigeration product proves defective within 1 year of purchase we will repair it at no cost to you. Our warranty does not apply to wear and tear, or if a product has been damaged or misused. Machines returned for repair in warranty where it is found that the machines has been abused or has not been used as the machine was designed for will be charged for. This also applies where a machine has not been properly maintained including cleaning and descaling where applicable. Machines returned for repair are not reassembled if upon quotation you do not require the machine to be repaired. Loan machines are not available. South Durham Refrigeration accepts no liability of whatever nature arising from as a result of any representations, breach of contracts, late delivery of product, negligence or otherwise including but not limited to any liability for indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profits, revenue, business or goodwill except for liability of death or personal injury caused by South Durham Refrigeration negligence. All conditions, warranties, guarantees and representations, express or implied, by statute, common law or otherwise in relation to the goods (other than the liability which South Durham Refrigeration is not permitted by law to exclude or restrict) are hereby excluded .

'Cooling Off Period' or Right to Cancel

Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, you have 7 working days from receipt of the appliance to cancel the contract. Notice of cancellation must be in writing, either by post, e-mail or fax. A full refund will be within 30 days from the date notice of cancellation is given to us. In the event of cancellation, any appliance supplied to you must be returned to us at your own cost and in a saleable condition ('As New'). If you would like us to arrange collection of the appliance from you, a re-stocking fee of £50.00 wil be charged towards the cost of collection. If the appliance is not returned to us within 30 days from the date notice of cancellation is given to us, we reserve the right to deduct to cost of recovering the appliance from any refund made to you.


South Durham Refrigeration is committed to safeguarding the privacy of our customers while providing the highest possible quality of service. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998). Our credit card procedures are safe and secure. We only collect information about you to enable us to fulfil your order. The information we will collect about you is: your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and credit/debit card details. You can check any of the information that we hold about you by writing to us at the above address. If you find any errors we will delete or correct it promptly. The personal information that we hold will be held securely in accordance with the law. We will not pass your details to other companies, other than our suppliers for the sole purpose of fulfilling your order.
